For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
