- Who “will pay back to everyone according to their works.”
- Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name!
Make his doings known among the peoples. - Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
- For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness.
I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more. - Commit your deeds to Yahweh,
and your plans shall succeed. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
- But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.
- I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart.
I will tell of all your marvelous works. - Wash yourselves. Make yourself clean.
Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.
Cease to do evil. - But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- In that day you will say, “Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Declare his doings among the peoples! Proclaim that his name is exalted!”
- Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
- Don’t you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Yahweh of Armies says, ‘Return now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;’ but they didn’t hear nor listen to me, says Yahweh.
- Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
- Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.
- The heart is deceitful above all things
and it is exceedingly corrupt.
Who can know it?
“I, Yahweh, search the mind.
I try the heart,
even to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his doings.” - Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator.
- Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
- The Rock: his work is perfect,
for all his ways are just.
A God of faithfulness who does no wrong,
just and right is he. - Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
- I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
- Who has worked and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last, I am he. - Not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.
- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but Yahweh weighs the hearts. - Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness,
for you reward every man according to his work.Ah Lord Yahweh! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.Next verse! With image
