A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. | A cheerful heart is a good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. |
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. | And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever. |
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. | But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God. |
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. |
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. | Shun fornication! Every sin that a person commits is outside the body; but the fornicator sins against the body itself. |

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? | Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? |
But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. | But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. |
He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. | Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors. |
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. | But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. |
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. | Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. |
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. | But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing. |
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. | Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. |

The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives. | The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous are generous and keep giving. |
He covets greedily all day long, But the righteous gives and does not spare. | All day long the wicked covet, but the righteous give and do not hold back. |
Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. | Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law. |
