- Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
- Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones. - God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.

But the Lord turns his face
against those who do evil. - What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.
- For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
- So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
- And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”
- Guide my steps by your word,
so I will not be overcome by evil. - And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
- For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
- For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
- Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me. - So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.
- Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
Those who refuse to gossip
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends. - Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes. - Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
- Evil people get rich for the moment,
but the reward of the godly will last. - The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever. - You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
- Such people will not be overcome by evil.
Those who are righteous will be long remembered. - Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.
- For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
- But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.
