FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL (2/4)

  • The Lord is righteous in all his ways
    and kind in all his works.
  • We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
  • Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
  • Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
  • Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
  • For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  • It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in man.
  • But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
  • For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
    I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well.
  • If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
  • For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
  • Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
  • Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.
  • Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
  • Behold, how good and pleasant it is
    when brothers dwell in unity!
  • But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
  • Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
  • But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
  • Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.
  • Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
  • Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
    even as we hope in you.
  • And those who know your name put their trust in you,
    for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
  • You are my hiding place and my shield;
    I hope in your word.
  • You keep him in perfect peace
    whose mind is stayed on you,
    because he trusts in you.

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
