Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. |
| May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. | May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. |
| For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. | He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! | He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. |

| If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. | Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. |
| God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. | The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. |
