- For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. - My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.
- Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments. - Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
- And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
- And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
- Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding. - Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.”
- For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? - This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
- This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts. - And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
- Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
- But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
- Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. - For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
- And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
- But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
- Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
