Bible Verses about 'Forgive'

  • And forgive us our debts
    as we forgive our debtors.
  • But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
  • If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
  • If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.
  • Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.
  • However, if we confess our sins,
he who is faithful and just
    will forgive our sins
and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
  • Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
  • Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  • I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,
and I shall remember their sins no more.
  • Then Peter came up to him and asked, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy times seven.”
  • And if then my people who bear my name humble themselves and pray to me and seek my presence as they turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land.
  • Rather, be kind to one another and compassionate, and forgive one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.
  • O Lord, you are kind and forgiving,
filled with kindness for all who cry to you.
  • Help us, O God, our Savior,
    for the glory of your name;
deliver us and wipe away our sins
    for your name’s sake.
  • Prepare in advance what you want to say,
    and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
    the bullocks from our stalls.”
  • Therefore, I tell you that every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • Blessed is the one whose offense is forgiven,
    whose sin is erased.
  • Let the wicked abandon their ways
and those who are evil their thoughts.
Let them return to the Lord
    so that he may have mercy upon them;
    and to our God,
for he is rich in forgiveness.
  • Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
  • Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
  • Then he took a cup, and after offering thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • In Christ
    and through his blood
    we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace.
  • One who forgives a misdeed fosters friendship,
but he who divulges it separates good friends.
  • He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
