Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Friends'
- Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
- A perverse man stirs up strife.
A whisperer separates close friends. - He who covers an offense promotes love;
but he who repeats a matter separates best friends. - Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- A man of many companions may be ruined,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.
- Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
- But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
- Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God; so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
- Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- He who walks blamelessly and does what is right,
and speaks truth in his heart;
he who doesn’t slander with his tongue,
nor does evil to his friend,
nor casts slurs against his fellow man. - With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. - To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend;
even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty. - Don’t envy the man of violence.
Choose none of his ways.
For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh,
but his friendship is with the upright. - Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is. Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.
- You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.
- Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins; and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Who is this King of glory?
Yahweh of Armies is the King of glory! Selah.
