| Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. | Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. |
| O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. | O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. |
| Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. | Now a mediator is helpful if more than one party must reach an agreement. But God, who is one, did not use a mediator when he gave his promise to Abraham. |
| For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. | You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. |
| Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men! | Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. |
| But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” | He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” |
| Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. | Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. |
