- Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
- Those who love your instructions have great peace
and do not stumble. - Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness. - Better to have little, with fear for the Lord,
than to have great treasure and inner turmoil. - Choose a good reputation over great riches;
being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold. - People with understanding control their anger;
a hot temper shows great foolishness. - But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
- Giving a gift can open doors;
it gives access to important people! - How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
- But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!
- The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning. - Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.
- You have given me your shield of victory.
Your right hand supports me;
your help has made me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet
to keep them from slipping. - But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.
- Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.
- But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King.
- And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
- O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!
- Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith:
Christ was revealed in a human body
and vindicated by the Spirit.
He was seen by angels
and announced to the nations.
He was believed in throughout the world
and taken to heaven in glory. - Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest. - For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. - So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
- How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world. - The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher,
and he gives the farmer great wisdom.
I will show how holy my great name is—the name on which you brought shame among the nations. And when I reveal my holiness through you before their very eyes, says the Sovereign Lord, then the nations will know that I am the Lord.Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything
until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.
