God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? | God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? |
But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. | Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. |
