the Advocate will not come to you,
whereas if I go,
I will send him to you. - When I am terrified,
I place my trust in you. - I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. - Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

- But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled;
be not afraid. - You have already been cleansed
by the word I have spoken to you. - If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. - For I, the Lord, am your God
and I grasp your right hand.
It is I who say to you,
Do not fear; I will help you.
