- “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”
- So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. - If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
- In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
- Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke? - Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye. - I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
- Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you. - Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
- So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
- Take words with you,
And return to the Lord.
Say to Him,
“Take away all iniquity;
Receive us graciously,
For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.” - Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. - I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.
- Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. - Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
- A fool has no delight in understanding,
But in expressing his own heart. - Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
