The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. | The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. |
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? | Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? |
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. | If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. |
What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? | Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! |
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” |
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. | If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. |
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. | But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. |
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. | Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. |
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. | If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. |
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. | Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. |
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. |
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. | Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him. |
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. | Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. |
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. |
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. | If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. |
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? | Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” |
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. |
