Bible Verses about 'James'

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.From the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, judging your neighbor?
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position; but the rich person is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.
