John 14 (2/4)

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
