Bible Verses about 'Lies'
- A faithful witness does not lie,
but a false witness breathes out lies. - You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
- Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit. - Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that is needful for me. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you. - Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a prince. - Thus says the Lord:
“Stand by the roads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way is; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.
But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’” - Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.
- Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
- He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
