the Lord is the one who sustains me. - My deliverance and my glory depend on God;
he is my mighty rock and my refuge. - After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
- This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him. - Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.
- For you are aware that you were ransomed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
