- For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. - For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
- And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
- True humility and fear of the Lord
lead to riches, honor, and long life. - That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
- But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me,
and through each night I sing his songs,
praying to God who gives me life. - You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever. - There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. - Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love
will find life, righteousness, and honor. - And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
- Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
- Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - I will never forget your commandments,
for by them you give me life. - That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
- The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences. - I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
- I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I go and stand before him? - So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
- For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
- But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.
