- May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us.

- God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

- So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!

- So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.
- We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
- For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
- But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
- That is why the Lord says,
“Turn to me now, while there is time.
Give me your hearts.
Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” - But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive! - For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
- Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
