- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them can fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth far more than any number of sparrows.
- The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life;
a poor man never has to worry about such threats. - While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come.
- All day long the godless man continues to covet,
whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly. - It is better to have little and be righteous
than to acquire great riches with injustice. - The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
- Guard your heart with all possible vigilance,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life. - The tongue has the power over life and death;
those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits. - Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- I write these things to you
who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know
that you have eternal life. - For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly.
- Welcome anyone whose faith is weak, but do not get into arguments about doubts.
- Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life,
but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. - Jesus replied,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me.” - Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. - However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- One who despairs should have the support of his friends
even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty. - Only goodness and kindness will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever and ever. - In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served but rather to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- Hence, as sin’s reign resulted in death, so the grace of God also might reign through righteousness resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- A thief comes only
to steal and kill and destroy.
I have come
that they may have life,
and have it in abundance.
This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her in order to sanctify her by cleansing her with water and the word.Next verse! With image
