Live (3/4)

  • For we walk by faith, not by sight.
  • And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
  • Husbands, in the same way, show consideration for your wives in your life together, paying honor to the woman as the weaker sex, since they too are also heirs of the gracious gift of life—so that nothing may hinder your prayers.
  • For a day in your courts is better
    than a thousand elsewhere.
    I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than live in the tents of wickedness.
  • You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
    who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
    will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
    my God, in whom I trust.”
  • One thing I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
    to live in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
    to behold the beauty of the Lord,
    and to inquire in his temple.
  • If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true.
  • By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
  • I will both lie down and sleep in peace;
    for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety.
  • Of all that live in water you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
  • Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
  • I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.
  • For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
  • So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
    God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.
  • And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
  • I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    I set your ordinances before me.
  • Bear fruit worthy of repentance.
  • God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
  • If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
  • Six days shall work be done; but the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work: it is a sabbath to the Lord throughout your settlements.
  • Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
  • But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
  • Pursue peace with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
  • Teach me your way, O Lord,
    that I may walk in your truth;
    give me an undivided heart to revere your name.
  • For thus says the high and lofty one
    who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
    I dwell in the high and holy place,
    and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit,
    to revive the spirit of the humble,
    and to revive the heart of the contrite.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Bible verse of the day

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
