- And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
- So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
- Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples! - Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
- He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.” - And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
- Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: None of my words will be delayed any longer, but the word that I speak will be performed, declares the Lord God.
- Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
- But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! - Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - He will render to each one according to his works.
- But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
- And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man
according to his work.
