A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.
The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up.
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field.

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.Take my yoke upon you. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.
For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
