- A man's pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. - The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. - Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
- Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

- I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- He is despised and rejected of men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not. - Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
- Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
- For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people:
he will beautify the meek with salvation. - And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
- And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
- If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
- God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
- He that followeth after righteousness and mercy
findeth life, righteousness, and honour. - And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
- And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
- Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
- That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
- Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
- The grass withereth, the flower fadeth:
but the word of our God shall stand for ever. - The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
- Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
- Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
- Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.
- And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven. - The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. - But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
- And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
- Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever. - For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
- And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
- Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
- For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
- When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee;
and through the rivers,
they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
