- A man’s pride will bring him low,
But the humble in spirit will retain honor. - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
He brings low and lifts up. - Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.

Do justice to the afflicted and needy. - I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
- He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. - Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.
- Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.
- When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom. - So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
- And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?
- For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation. - God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
- And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
- So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- He who follows righteousness and mercy
Finds life, righteousness, and honor. - Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
- That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
- The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever. - And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
- The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious,
But the lips of a fool shall swallow him up. - For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
- Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me. - A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. - But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
- Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
- He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber. - Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
- Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
- In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. - The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. - Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
- Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever. - For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.
- Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
- Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Hosanna in the highest!” - Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
- He who is slow to wrath has great understanding,
But he who is impulsive exalts folly. - When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. - Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
