Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.
The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.
I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.
For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.
