A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.But Yahweh said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.Don’t let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers.
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.Yahweh God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator.
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man. For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, like an unscalable wall in his own imagination.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.
It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.
Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a good person someone would even dare to die. But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint.
