Does he speak and then not act, does he promise and then not fulfill it? |
| The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. | The fear of others will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is secure. |
| Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. | Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding. |
| He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. | He was despised and shunned by others, a man of sorrows who was no stranger to suffering. We loathed him and regarded him as of no account, as one from whom men avert their gaze. |
