And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
A fool’s wrath is known at once, But a prudent man covers shame.The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.
A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.
So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished.The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.
Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain. And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?” And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”One Sabbath he was going through the grainfields, and as they made their way, his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful.Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.
For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, But the poor does not hear rebuke.The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.

Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
