- As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. - The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. - This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles. - For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
- When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
- He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’
- A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back. - The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - A perverse man sows strife,
And a whisperer separates the best of friends. - How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word. - I, even I, am He who comforts you.
Who are you that you should be afraid
Of a man who will die,
And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? - For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
- But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
- It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man. - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! - There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
- Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty,
And before honor is humility. - You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.
- A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! - But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
- Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the hearts. - Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.
