The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit. - For this is what the high and exalted One
Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, says:
“I dwell in a high and holy place,
And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit
In order to revive the spirit of the lowly
And to revive the heart of the contrite.” - My son, do not forget my teaching,
But have your heart comply with my commandments;
For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you. - These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.
- Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness,
For they have been from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings;
Remember me according to Your faithfulness,
For Your goodness’ sake, Lord. - For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”
