- When I realized that my foot was slipping,
your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. - Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You place your trust in God.
Trust also in me. - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed,
to strengthen the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity
and release to those who have been imprisoned. - Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood
dwells in me and I dwell in him. - Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.” - I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your precepts. - Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me. - I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything impossible for me to accomplish?
- You will show me the path to life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence
and everlasting delights at your right hand. - Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest.
- Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. - But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - Do the things that you have learned, received, and heard from me and that you saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
- I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Now waiting for me is the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who have eagerly longed for his appearance.
- I keep the Lord always before me,
for with him at my right hand
I will never fall. - He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
- Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
and everyone who lives
and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?” - “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again.
“As the Father has sent me,
so I send you.” - I myself did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest
is the one who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not allow myself to be dominated by anything.
- Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- To you, O God of my fathers,
I offer thanks and praise
because you have given me wisdom and power.
Now you have made known to me
what we asked of you;
you have revealed to us the king’s dream. - Guide my steps in accord with your word
and never let evil triumph over me. - I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I have set your judgments before me.
