Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. |

You shall be holy to me; for I the Lord am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples to be mine. | And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. |
Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine. | Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. |
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” | Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. |
They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them. | And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. | For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. |
My child, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad. | My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. |
I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look upon a virgin? | I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? |
But surely, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. | Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. |
I treasure your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against you. | Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. |
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. | But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. |
And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. | And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. |
Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil. | Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. |
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. | I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. |
My times are in your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors. | My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. |
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. | My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. |
God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and makes me tread upon the heights. | The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. |
I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. | I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. |
O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. | O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. |
Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want. | Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. |
Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah | I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |
Return, faithless Israel, says the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, says the Lord; I will not be angry forever. | Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. |
If you conquer, you will be clothed like them in white robes, and I will not blot your name out of the book of life; I will confess your name before my Father and before his angels. | He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. |
