So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.” | Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. |
Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. |

You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. | And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. |
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine. | Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. |
They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. | And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. |
For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. | For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. |
My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad. | My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. |
I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin? | I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? |
Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. | Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. |
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. | Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. |
But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. | But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. |
And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. | And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. |
Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil. | Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. |
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. | I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. |
My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! | My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. |
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. | My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. |
God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places. | The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. |
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. | I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. |
O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. | O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. |
Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will. | Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. |
I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah | I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. |
Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever. | Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. |
The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. | He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. |
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! | Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
