- When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them?
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.
- Therefore let’s not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this: not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way.
- Whom do I have in heaven but You?
And with You, I desire nothing on earth. - What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
- Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.
- I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches. - Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
- A person has joy in an apt answer,
And how delightful is a timely word! - Then, when they had fasted, prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
- But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
- How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver. - For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?
- You will make known to me the way of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. - Truly, truly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.
- In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you.
- If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
- The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time and forever. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
But have your heart comply with my commandments;
For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you. - And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.”
- Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
- His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’
- Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
