and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - When you pray do not go on babbling endlessly as the pagans do, for they believe that they are more likely to be heard because of their many words.

but cherish my commandments in your heart,
for they will bring you length of days,
more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity. - The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
and it is also perverse.
Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - Therefore, brethren, be diligent in providing a firm foundation for your call and election. If you do this, you will never stumble, and you will receive a glorious welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
