Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. | Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. |
I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you should also love one another. | A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. |
If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married. | When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken. |
Rather, professing truth and love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, Christ. | But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. |

One person may consider one day to be more sacred than another, while another may judge all days to be alike. Let everyone be convinced in his own beliefs. | One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. |
Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. | Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. |
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. | Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. |
He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” | But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. |
Do not make gods from silver or from gold instead of me. You will not make them for yourselves. | Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. |

Therefore, keep watch, for you do not know the day when your Lord is coming. | Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. |

You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, nor his oxen, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor. | Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. |
Observe my Sabbaths and stand in awe before my sanctuary. I am the Lord. | Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. |
Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance. | Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. |
But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
