Jesus then said, “I will remain with you only for a short time longer, and then I shall return to him who sent me.” | Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. |
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |

Until now, in my name, you have not asked for anything. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. | Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. |
And thus we can have confidence in him that if we ask anything that is in accordance with his will, he hears us. | And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. |
Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul. | Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. |
This is what love is: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. | Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |
However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. | If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full. | Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. |
Amen, amen, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. |
And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. | And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. |
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. | For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. |
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. | These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. |
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” | In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. |
Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. | As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. |
However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. | But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. |
I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. |
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. | If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. |
If we claim that we have fellowship with him while we continue to live in darkness, we are lying and do not live in the truth. | If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. |
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. | And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. |
This is the message that we have heard from him and that we declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him. | This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |
God’s love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
And now, dear children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming. | And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. |
