For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.
