Bible Verses about 'Past'
- For to you a thousand years
are like a yesterday that has passed
or one of the watches of the night. - By faith Abraham also received the power of procreation, even though he was well past the age—and Sarah herself was barren—because he believed that the one who had made the promise would be faithful in fulfilling it.
- I am the gate.
Anyone who enters through me
will be saved.
He will go in and out
and will find pasture. - The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall lack.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me to tranquil streams. - Do not assert that the past was better than the present,
for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom. - For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that by perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we may continue to have hope.
- He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end.
- O Lord, you are my God.
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for you have accomplished wonderful things,
formulated in ages past, faithful and sure. - Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
- But from you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
among the tiniest of the clans of Judah,
from you will come forth for me
one who is to be a ruler in Israel,
one whose origins are from the distant past,
from ancient times. - When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud of heart
and quickly forgot me. - Put your trust in the Lord and do good,
that you may dwell in the land and be secure. - God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, but now he commands people everywhere to repent.
- Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.
- Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness
have been yours from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth
or my many transgressions,
but remember me in your kindness,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. - But for you who fear my name
the sun of justice will arise
with its healing rays.
You will emerge leaping
like calves released from the stall.
