Proverbs 31:25–26 (3/6)

The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
