Bible Verses about 'Purpose'

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
Many plans are in a person’s heart, But the advice of the Lord will stand. You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every matter under heaven. For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.
For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
Not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.
Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill your whole plan!May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions.Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill.Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
That they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.
