| I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. | I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom and led you along the paths of righteousness. |
| Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. | He is the reflection of God’s glory and the perfect expression of his very being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. For all of his works are right, and all of his ways are just. Also, he is able to humble all those who follow the path of pride. |

| See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. | Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone. |
| Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. | Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up. |
| But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. | Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them. |
| Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. | Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.” |
| Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. | Grant justice to the weak and the orphan; defend the rights of the lowly and the poor. |
| And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time. |
| Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. | Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil. |
