- I have taught thee in the way of wisdom;
I have led thee in right paths. - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
- Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. - And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
- He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
- Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
- Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment,
and equity; yea, every good path. - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
- Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
- Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues without right. - Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
- For thou hast possessed my reins:
thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works;
and that my soul knoweth right well. - See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
- But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
- Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
- Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy. - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
