| The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. | Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. |
| They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!” | And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. | We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. | Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. |
| The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. | To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. |
| I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. | I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. |
| If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you. | If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. |

Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. | He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. | No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
| God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. | Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. |
| The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. | The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. |

| Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. | We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth. |
| But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. | But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. |
