- A cheerful heart makes good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
He brings low, he also lifts up. - I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth. - He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
- God, having raised up his servant Jesus, sent him to you first to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your wickedness.
- Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.
- Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
- He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
- Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal.
- He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.
Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down.
Yahweh loves the righteous. - For you will light my lamp, Yahweh.
My God will light up my darkness. - But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.
- He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
- Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. - Oh how great is your goodness,
which you have laid up for those who fear you,
which you have worked for those who take refuge in you,
before the sons of men! - But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
- Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name. - Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.
- You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,
for I trust in you.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to you. - Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
- While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”
- Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.”
