The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. | The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. |
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. | Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. |

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. | When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong. |

The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. | The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale. |
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. | As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. |
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. | But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. |
