Bible Verses about 'Sake'

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
“Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.”And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
Let your favor shine on your servant. In your unfailing love, rescue me.Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
